alright, alright, I finally scanned in and threw up the photos from the
smith rock adventure!

it's been a crazy week! next week i'm back in houston on wednesday and thursday.
congrats to kane and al on finishing medical school and getting accepted to the dartmouth and washington residency programs.
congrats to ariel on getting into the sf state nursing program!

it's official, i'm 24! i spent my birthday in great company, with ariel, kane, al,
and the beautiful volcanic tuff faces of smith rock,
oregon. our schedule for the three day trip went something like this :
7:00 AM - get up, look outside the tent, decide it's too damn cold to climb, try to sleep some more
8:00 AM - we're too excited to sleep anymore, so we get up, drive to the rock, down some oatmeal and coffee
and hike to the crags
9:00 AM - climb until our fingers are numb, rest for ten minutes, until they warm up again. climb until it starts
snowing, rest until the hold try out. climb until we are hungry
6:00 PM - declare the day a victory, head into bend for dinner and beers
7:00 PM - have dinner and beers at the deschutes brewery ( home of obsidian stout ).
9:00 PM - drive back to camp, crawl into our bags and go to sleep
three days of this, plus a little snow and a lot of hard climbing added up to a great time. thanks guys. can't wait till next year.
